Trauma impacted athletes: How can we change their experience through consciousness in coaching?
Summary:
Coaches, please join us for a panel discussion to learn about the impact of trauma in gymnastics. A gymnast can experience trauma in many ways. Did something happen to them personally? Did they see or hear about something traumatic? Do you know the signs of trauma or how to respond to trauma? What is the difference between trauma and fear?

These are just a few of the topics that will be addressed in this moderated panel discussion. Please bring your questions!

Panelists:
Gail Santamaria: Child & family therapist, with 18 years in the field, specializing in trauma and relationship work. Gail is a co-founder for The Gymnastics Collective and also a former gymnast who is using these experiences to advocate for the safety and well-being of the athletes.

Kristen Ciezak: NGB Licensing and Business Development Professional, The Gymnastics Collective Co-Founder and passionate advocate for empowering positive change within youth sports.
